Legalizing Cannabis

Aviva Markowitz got an arrow splitting bull’s-eye exposing cannabis (marijuana) prohibition (4/20 Raises Marijuana Awareness, Ethical Questions, April 20, 2010) for what it is. Another reason to stop caging responsible adults who use cannabis that doesn’t get mentioned is because it is Biblically correct since Christ God Our Father, The Ecologician, indicates He created all the seed-bearing plants, saying they are all good, on literally the very first page (Genesis 1:11-12 and 29-30). The only Biblical restriction placed on cannabis is that it is to be accepted with thankfulness (see 1 Timothy 4:1-5).
The list of reasons to RE-legalize cannabis is growing faster than the plant itself.

Truthfully,

You do more harm for the cause than good. Cannabis should be legalized period, but sir your life revolves around this plant and at some point even you must question your idolization of it.

Actually, Rastas and likeminded Judeo-Christians look to verses in the Bible where a phrase “Kaneh Bosem” as the origins of the word Cannabis. “Some scholars believe that God’s command to Moses (Exodus 30:23) to make a holy oil included cannabis as one of the chosen ingredients… This first of the references to keneh bosem occurs in the story of Moses, who initially met the angel of the Lord from “flames of fire within a bush”. Exodus 30:23 describes cannabis in a list of ingredients in the “Holy Anointing Oil”.

(I personally think there is nothing to this, linguistically, but sure is fun to talk about)

Genesis 1:11-12 & 29-30 – these passages would include cannabis along with the coca plant (not cocaine itself, but the plant cocaine and crack are made from) and the opium poppy, in which opiates are made and the opium itself can be smoked similar to cannabis.

Exodus 30:23 – mentions myrrh, cinnamon, and calamus. Maybe my Bible is edited, but those three herbs are NOT cannabis.

After reading these passages, are you suggesting legalizing cannabis, opium poppy, and the coca plant?

I fail to understand how you can just pick out just cannabis. Maybe my logic is flawed.

    Peace.
