A Special Night of Public Observing at Van Vleck Observatory

The Astronomical Society of Greater Hartford is hosting a night of observing the night skies on the Wesleyan University campus. Join us from 8-10 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2009 to view prominent objects in the night sky through the University’s 20” refractor telescope.

Note: observing will only take place if the skies are clear. See http://observe.asgh.org for more information, or call me at 860-214-5931. There is no charge for this event. Due to the sensitivity of these instruments there is no parking at the observatory. Free parking is available on Vine Street (in the “V Lot”, P-6 on this map: http://www.wesleyan.edu/about/images/CamMap _0824_WEB.pdf.) Observing is held in the large dome on the right side of the Van Vleck Observatory building, U-7 on the map. Should weather prohibit observing, a cancellation notice will be posted at http://observe.asgh.org by 6pm the day of the event.
