Witness: Round Two

We have become aware that there are those on campus who rather like hearing their own political opinions echoing around the campus, insulating them from the harsh disturbance of dissent. It is for these individuals that we issue this friendly warning: later this week stacks of pamphlets bearing the visage of our beloved President Obama will appear in several highly trafficked areas. Do not read them. Do not skim the contents. Better yet, avert your eyes and pretend that it’s all a mirage.

On the other hand, if you consider yourself to be the kind of individual who is invigorated by political discourse, the authors and editors of the second issue of the Wesleyan Witness would like to invite you to open one of these small black booklets and perhaps even allow your mind to follow suit. This month, we humbly present for your edification (or merely your entertainment) an alternate view of the man, the myth and the legend: Barack Obama. As always, we welcome your feedback and are making strides to create more avenues for dialogue regarding the Witness articles. These efforts include adding a section for letters to the editor and designing a conservative blog on which we will post all of the articles contained in the publication. We have been aptly encouraged by the debates, rants and thoughtful discussions that our first issue provoked, and look forward to continuing to voice the views of the minority as we work together towards making Wesleyan a truly diverse and stimulating environment.
