Men’s and Women’s Frisbee Dominate In Sectionals

Over the weekend, Wesleyan’s men’s (Neitzsch Factor) and women’s (Vicious Circles) club Frisbee teams had a pair of standout performances in the sectionals. The Cardinal men hosted the Southern New England Ultimate Frisbee Sectionals Tournament and came away with a 14-9 victory over Brown in the finals. The only other team to score more than four points against Wesleyan was the University of Rhode Island, which scored eight. The team will head to the regional championships on May 2.

Vicious Circles also emerged from the sectionals (held in Kingston, R.I.) as the top team for the third straight year. The women competed in a tournament consisting of nine teams from the area, including Brown, Yale and the University of Rhode Island. Vicious Circles won all four of its games and did not allow any team to score more than three points in its first three games. Wesleyan defeated Brown’s Disco Inferno 10-6 for the championship on Sunday. Vicious Circles will travel to Dartmouth with Nietzsch Factor for the regional championships in two weeks.
