Hey, prefrosh! (And the general Wesleyan community),
Though the administration will erase my and others’ chalkings, they cannot erase this Wespeak. Though you may see a whitewashed campus, bare ground and bare walls, an uncaring silence for us that saddens me, that does not mean that the night before there were no exuberant chalkings populating this campus. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t people on this campus who are transgender anarchists beyond pronoun, or who are naked queers who will make deep love with any person, who will even fuck The Man, or people who think the War in Iraq is white people’s burden trying to save and liberate brown people from themselves, or humans who do want to talk about class privilege and social constructs and the subjectivity of science and hegemonic discourses and ingrained ideologies and U.S. capitalist imperialism, or who think pre-cum is sexy and want to lick you from your breasts to your balls, or who despise fear and regulations, or are gender-bending womyn refusing marriage, or who think our lifestyle fucks. Or who orgasm and shake with thrills at imagination and transcending. That doesn’t mean we won’t chalk again.
But you know, not everyone at Wesleyan does.
P.S. I ask whether the spouses, lovers, and friends-with-benefits of the trustees Robert L. Allbritton, Leo F. Au, Andrea Barthwell, Joshua S. Boger, Lael Brainard, Jack Braitmayer, Stephen S. Daniel, Michael A. Donnella, James van B. Dresser, Karen Freedman, Karl Furstenberg, Joshua Gilbert, Matthew M. Greenfield, Darryl Hazel, Ellen Jewett, Stephanie Ivy, Michael Klingher, Daphne Kwok, Mora McLean, Michael S. McPherson, Megan Norris, David Olson, George Ring, Michael S. Roth, Brian Schorr, Frank V. Sica, Shonni J. Silverberg, David Swensen, Adam Usdan, Thomas Wu; I ask whether the partners and paramours of the trustees will do a sex strike akin to many that have happened all over the world throughout history and even in plays and have worked. I am serious when I ask this: will you refuse sex to the trustees until they divest Wesleyan’s money from the war industry?
