Wednesday night was Senior Night for the Wesleyan field hockey team, as the Cardinals returned home to host the Trinity Bantams following two road games last week.
Senior co-captain Liz Chabot scored six goals in two games last week as Wesleyan field hockey earned convincing wins over UMass Dartmouth and NESCAC foe Bates, improving to a 6-4 record on the season and 3-4 in NESCAC competition.
Following a tough loss at Tufts University last Saturday, in which the Cardinals were unable to post any points on the scoreboard, Wesleyan field hockey co-captain Morgan McCauley ’12 knew that the team would need to find the back of the net if they hoped to win any of their upcoming games.
The Cardinals ceded two goals early to the Jumbos, who would make the score line stand for a 2-0 victory.
Bowdoin entered the game as the preseason top-ranked Division III field hockey team, but a strong defensive effort by the Cardinals kept the Polar Bears at zero until late in the second half.
