I am the University Liberation Front

This Wespeak is for the general Wesleyan community, but more specifically for those people who upon reading the manifesto by the University Liberation Front (ULF) grew indignant.

Erasing chalk won’t silence our voices

Though the administration will erase my and others’ chalkings, they cannot erase this Wespeak. Though you may see a whitewashed campus, bare ground and bare walls, an uncaring silence for us that saddens me, that does not mean that the night before there were no exuberant chalkings populating this campus.

Divestment treatise

What height of obscure intellectual reasoning have we reached! AAAAAGH! A Wespeak on Friday (“Liberal critique of divestment,” April 4, 2008, Volume CXLIII, Number 37) for investment told us that asking for divestment from corporations would result in giving power to corporations and legitimizing their ability to impose their will and that it’s not democratic for we should use the “appropriate” route through government instead.

A divestment manifesto from the future

Please, all of you, call me Xernon: I am from a far far away star but right now I am hovering in a spaceship very near your atmosphere. I happened to get my fingers on a copy of Tuesday’s Argus and was delighted to see some of the articles written on page 3. My species has been involved in something I now feel open to tell you all about since I feel you will all understand where I am coming from.

New strategy needed for Iraq

I don’t know much, in a way. I do not have a detailed and critical engagement with the history of the Middle East and the United States’ relation to it. Don't censor explicit chalking

Hello Argus, first, not all chalkings are obscenities and there are many different reasons why people want to chalk. Moreover, one may find certain chalkings obscene and still support free expression through the medium of chalking. However, what I would like to respond to is Evan Carp and others' attitude towards certain sexually explicit chalkings, deeming them obscene.

Bring the Chalk

LIKE CHALK? hate chalk? love to masturbate with chalk wrapped in saran wrap? DO YOU SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTION? …or do you just like writing witty shit on the pavement? WANNA ENCOURAGE SOME PREFROSH TO COME TO WES AND DISCOURAGE OTHERS?

Thanks for not censoring

I just got done seeing the Sex Worker's Art Show. Besides the huge turnout, besides what in my opinion was an absolutely amazing show, during the show they talked about how in other colleges they have had to censor certain things.
