If the editorial in the ny post today has it facts straight then it is clear (and not for the first time) that some wesleyan students and faculty have turned the first amendment on its head….freedom of speech is for both sides including the speech you don’t want to hear regardless of the emeritus and what better more fertile place than the campus of one america’s most prestigious colleges of liberal learning…shouting down and tearing up are contrary to the spirit of the first amendment..the first words of it are “congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech “there is no exception for aroused wesleyan men or women…let wesleyan be the place where all sides can be heard even the most odious….how else can we ever know what we are for or against//respectfully john r jakobson ’52
