I wanted to thank Alexandra Early for writing such a poignant and dignified Wespeak. My friends and I recognize and appreciate the bravery required to speak out on such a sensitive subject.

I forwarded the letter to my mother, a night nurse in the health center at Princeton University, who reflected that, “Sadly, for women to earn their so-called freedom (post-sexual revolution) we have belittled ourselves, starved ourselves, deprived and mutilated ourselves and worst of all exposed ourselves to the barbaric practices of the immature male. What was secret, backstreet, whispered, ignored skillfully but accepted ‘boys will be boys’ behavior is now on the marquis of every frat house, eating club, and private party house of our finest universities”.

Let this not be an “attack” on college men—but simply a reminder to college women that there is tremendous work to be done before we can truly gain social equality and transcend such a vicious double standard.
