What’s up, Argus readers? It’s 2018 and Written in the Stars is back to give you the scoop on the upcoming astrological events, celestial plots, and cosmic schemes. Now that drop/add is coming to an end and class schedules have finally sorted themselves out, I’ve found some time to consult with our varied spiritual guides and diviners, and boy did they give us the 4-1-1! As always, complaints, inaccuracies, and scornful replies can be lodged against us via seance (half-moons only, 11:45 to 11:48 p.m.).

Aquarius (January 21 – February 19)

The full moon usually makes waves in your life, Aquarius, but your February is going to pass without one even showing up. Things might not seem particularly exciting right now, but there are two coming up next month, so use this time to recharge and get settled in before a wild March. The Sun-Uranus sextile on Mardi Gras will give you a little preview of the fun you have to look forward to in March, so put your head down and work hard this week and then pull out your dancing shoes and let loose this weekend!

Pisces (February 20 – March 20)

Your feelings may have been a bit topsy-turvy lately, Pisces, and that’s okay! Pain and discomfort are useful feelings because they let us know that something is wrong, and that way, we can make changes to try and fix it. The new moon coming up on the 15th will bring serenity and acceptance into your life, and you’ll enjoy a sense of calm even though right now things might seem hectic. After the new moon passes, the Venus will pass Neptune, and a new romance seems to be peeking over the horizon. So don’t worry, single Pisceans out there… Valentines Day might be running late, but it’s not going to be a complete no-show.

Aries (March 21 – April 20)

Now is the time to set that early morning alarm and get organized, Aries! The moon passes feisty Sagittarius on the 8th, and potential contacts are thinking of you and what a superstar you are in professional and academic settings. Think about who you might ask for recommendation letters, or strategize and strengthen contacts you have with the faculty on campus. The lead-up to the solar eclipse on the 15th will also present a great time for you to showcase your charisma in social settings, so pop a breath mint and bring the dazzle this weekend!

Taurus (April 21 – May 21)

The new moon on the 15th is sending a shakeup into your life, Taurus, and it’s just the kind you’ve been waiting on for a while now. This week, set aside some time to reflect and meditate on what’s important to you and set some personal, as well as academic goals this semester. With a clear outline, the burst of energy next week can be harnessed and concentrated to its full potential. Be willing to speak up for what you want and believe in these next few weeks, and don’t let others’ opinions distract you from what matters to you

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

There’s no full moon this month, and it might get you a little down. But no need to feel too bad for too long, Gemini, because people around you are going to seem extra energized and enthused this week, and their optimism will prove to be contagious. As long as you surround yourself with people that uplift you, your upcoming week and weekend promises to be fun and fruitful. If there’s something you’ve been putting off, now is the time to do it. Get into that clear headspace, Gemini, and your emotional (as well as physical) well-being will thank you.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22)

Perhaps you’re normally the kind of person who operates with a stoic exterior, but this is the time to wear your heart on your sleeve a little, Cancer, and let the people in your life know what’s up. You don’t have to conflate vulnerability with weakness, though. If people react to your candor in a way you don’t appreciate, then know that you’re being honest with yourself, and don’t be afraid to respectfully disagree with them either! This all being said, remember to listen to others when they confide in you, and try to ensure disagreements are respectfully expressed.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

With two full moons last month, you might have found yourself in the midst of a particularly eventful start to February. Things might have gotten off to a rocky start, but as you get back into the school routine, some sunshine is set to peek back through and fill you up with peace and warmth. If you’re finding yourself feeling like you could be up for a spontaneous adventure (however big or small) grab someone to share it with and go! This weekend, Venus enters your leading house, making it the perfect time to do some entertaining at home. Take some time this week to pamper yourself a little, too, Leo. You deserve the lovin.

Virgo (August 23 – September 23)

The current celestial energy is a little frenetic this month, Virgo, so make sure you remain vigilant about protecting your emotional well-being and don’t take on too much to handle. You don’t have to say yes to everything—be sure to keep that in mind this week. Work out and eat well, and the new moon coming up on the 15th will make sure everything settles down in your favor.

Libra (September 24 – October 23)

How’s it going, good-lookin? Venus crosses into Pisces on the 10th, sprinkling some potential for romance into your life. You could find yourself surprised by someone you had previously thought of only “as a friend” coming across as a little extra sweet, or smart, or funny this week. Lean into the curiosity, Libra, if you’re so intrigued, and you might be pleasantly surprised. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep this week as school starts to pick up again.

Scorpio (October 24 – November 22)

Venus crosses with Jupiter early this month and it might get you thinking of ways to optimize your productivity. If you’ve had your eye on a gadget recently, do your research, and if you think it’d actually make a positive change in your life, treat yourself and go out and get it! Venus enters your chart this upcoming Saturday, so with all the time you’re saving with your new organizational prowess, your love life will have more time to sizzle.

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 21)

The quarter-moon coming up in the middle of this week will send some much-needed clarity into your life. If there’s been something bugging you lately, or someone that’s been causing you to doubt yourself and diminish your self-confidence, call them out! Once you clear that up, use the renewed energy and optimism to entertain this weekend and go out and have a great time!

Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)

Another trip around the sun, and another dose of wisdom, Capricorn! You might be feeling a little worse for wear as we enter February, but with Venus crossing Pisces on the 10th, things will make an upward turn, and your batteries will recharge to their usual optimal shine. Remember that the world is big, Capricorn, so don’t let yourself get too emotionally trapped or boxed-in. This quarter-moon coming up will also jumpstart your academic work potential, so get writing and you will reap the rewards soon!
