A water pipe in the Center for the Arts burst on Sunday night, according to Public Safety Lieutenant Paul Verrillo. As water quickly soaked the area, the leak was soon discovered by custodial staff and a Public Safety officer who was patrolling the building. Public Safety made the initial phone calls to notify maintenance authorities, and Physical Plant has been handling the repair process.

The complex was without water for all of Monday as work was done on the pipes. The cause of the break is currently unknown. The Argus will have further coverage as more information becomes available.
