Chair of the Economics Department Gil Skillman, the is known for his love of music, guitar-based metaphors for economic concepts, and ripping up the stage with fellow faculty-rockers. Considering the wide range of references he brings up in his classes, it is no wonder his playlist is equally diverse, ranging from Afro-beat to classic Jazz to country-pop.
“I don’t listen to these songs while grading—too distracting,” Skillman said. “Grading music is something like the Skip, Hop & Wobble album by Russ Barenberg, Jerry Douglas and Edgar Meyer.”
