Associate Professor of Film Scott Higgins (affectionately known to students as “Shiggins”) is the Apollo to Jeanine Basinger’s Zeus. Well, at least to any student hoping to break into Wesleyan’s revered film department, that is. He teaches “History of Film,” the introductory class into the major. Although the class is notorious for applying natural selection to academics and is alledgedly used to weed out the ranks of perspective film majors, Shiggins still manages to remain beloved by most of the students that survive (or don’t survive) his class. Here is what Higgins is bumping on his ‘random’ playlist, including one track from the popular (and more-than-slightly trippy) children’s show  “Yo Gabba Gabba.” Perhaps Higgins appreciates the show’s cinematography, as well as its music.
