ROTARACT, an international public service network for university students and young professionals, will be holding two information sessions on Tuesday, March 29, at 3pm and 4pm at USDAN 110. Wesleyan students interested in establishing a Wesleyan chapter of Rotaract are encouraged to attend either of these sessions.

Rotaract clubs are commonly involved in school literacy programs, community environmental projects, fundraising drives for homeless shelters and efforts to address hunger. Rotaract also promotes leadership and professional development. Worldwide there are more than 8,400 Rotaract clubs with a total membership of more than 194,000.

Pooja Mehta, the president of the Yale Rotaract Club, will attend the Wesleyan sessions and discuss her club’s efforts to found an eye hospital and sponsor clean water filters in rural India.

At the sessions there also will be discussion of scholarship opportunities for Rotaract members through Rotary International Foundation, a worldwide service organization for professional men and women. Rotary has more than 1.2 million members in over 200 countries.  Refreshments will be served.
