Ok, you didn’t bring a radio to school. That’s ok, but it’s not an excuse not to listen to some of the great shows on WESU’s brand new fall schedule. We’ve got classic public radio fare in the programming, like your daily dose NPR and Pacifica Network news, local public affairs and public interest shows, as well as an updated list of local happenings read daily at 5pm. WESU has got some pretty unique, commercial-free gems of its own: Gospel, Carribean, Rockabilly, Techno mixed live on vinyl, R&B, local music showcases, and more new, independent rock and alternative music than your Shakespeer account can keep up with. Even better: we’re giving away CD’s and concert tickets on the daily.

Our fall schedule will be hanging out in piles around campus soon, but you can see our new schedule now and stream WESU live at wesufm.org (you can also listen in on itunes radio). Interested in becoming a DJ? Sign up at our booth at the community involvement fair, or email personnel@wesufm.org.

This summer made Wesleyan Radio history, when WESU started broadcasting at 6,000 watts of Effective Radiated Power! WESU was radiating out at 1,500 watts for the past 3 decades, ever since it was started in the basement of Clark Hall, and this incredible power upgrade makes our radio signal available to twice as many listeners in CT and MA for a potential listening audience of close to 1 million.

To celebrate the new year, the new program, the new wattage upgrade, and the batch of new shows, WESU will also release a sweet new t-shirt. Want to see people walking around wearing your design? Send a WESU t-shirt design (preferably something that references our new 6,000 watts of power) to tshirt@wesufm.org.
Tune in, call in, send in your designs, and enjoy your college and community radio station.

Avery Trufelman is a member of the class of 2013 and is a DJ at WESU.
