Head men’s lacrosse coach John Raba was inducted into the University of New Haven Athletics Hall of Fame in a ceremony on March 26 at the Race Brook Country Club in Orange, one of seven inductees in the 27th Hall of Fame class. Raba is a 1993 UNH graduate, where he was a standout in both football and lacrosse.

On the lacrosse field, Raba led Division II in scoring in 1993 and earned All-America honors as a graduate student a year later. Raba was also a two-time all-New England honoree on the gridiron as a fullback, serving as team captain and earning team MVP honors. He was honored as the UNH male of the athlete of the year in both the 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons.

Raba joined the Wesleyan staff in 1996 and is now in his 14th season as head men’s lacrosse coach. Raba was named NEILA Coach of the Year for the fifth time in 2009 as the Cardinals went 15-4 and captured their first NESCAC crown, bringing Raba’s career record to 155-67 entering this season.
