So, with all of the buzz around a few big orientation events, it’s easy to forget a few of the small ones. The Wesleyan Farmer’s Market was surprisingly undervisited today, which probably makes sense considering the significant lack of students on campus. But come on guys, really? The best meats and produces around for a fraction of the price you’d pay at other campus institutions?

Thankfully, the Farmer’s Market comes back every Wednesday, and any new student who didn’t get a chance to visit today will have ample opportunities in the future. I don’t need to enumerate all the wonderful things that go along with shopping and eating locally grown foods, but I’ll say this: if you can’t be moved to do it in order to save the world, do it for the food– giant cupcakes, fresh herbs and spices, fresh honey, and, my personal favorite, steaks.

Whoops, thought it was on Thursday (today). I’ll look for it next week!
(And definitely something that should’ve been in our orientation bibles)

One correction: the farmers’ market will be on campus the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month — so the next one will be Sept 16th.
