Are you ready to be that person that you were? That day after 9/11 on 9/12 I told you for weeks—you’re not alone. (Crying). I’m turning into a frickin’ televangelist. You’re gonna meet people from across the country, from all sides of the political spectrum. Come on. Follow me. (Walks into studio)

No matter where you are, from the sidewalks outside, to people all over the country, just a few blocks away in Times Square. There are people at viewing parties, regular viewing parties, started by regular people like you.

Like Joyce in Melbourne, who’s gathering grew so large that she moved it from a restaurant to the parking lot outside. To the gatherings in South Jordan, Utah, to homes in Golden Valley, Arizona, and Brewer, Maine to the Garage Bar in Ohio, in virtually every small town and big city in between, there are people gathering in ranches in Texas, where people are waiting to watch the show—to military bases in Iraq (sobs) where people have gathered. We’re even going to join some people in the hills in Hollywood, California—yes, believe it or not, my producer Stew. No matter where you are right now, the message is clear: you are not alone.

I’m gonna show you how an idea that started with a single idea on my radio show has grown into something that millions are now participating in. But the show is not about me, it’s not about the president, it’s not about parties, about politics. It’s about showing how the real power to change America’s course still lies with you, the people.

You are the secret, you are the answer. (Cries) I’m sorry. I just love my country, and I fear for it. (Sobbing

And it seems like the voices of our leaders and special interests, of the media, they’re surrounding us and it sounds intimidating. But you know what? Pull away the curtain, and you’ll realize that there isn’t anybody there! It’s just a few people who’re just pushing the buttons, and their voices are really weak.

And the truth is, they don’t surround us. We surround them.

I’m glad you printed this transcript. I think it’s one of the best examples of unfocused insanity I’ve seen in any format in a long time. Everyone is against us, nameless foes (“them”), and it’s very scary, and there’s no solution. Just get worked up over nothing, and perhaps become dangerously paranoid. Shoot someone, like the gunman did a few days ago, in part because ‘Obama was going to take his guns’. Buy ammo. Stockpile. Goaded further buy Sean Hannity, consider violent overthrow of the government. Just because. Just after 9/11, Glenn Beck forgets, many people were scared, paranoid, unthinking, and vengeful. I know this is the kind of America that Glenn Beck yearns for – he seeks to incite those blind and violent urges in us everyday. But it’s not my America, and it shouldn’t be yours.

Everyone who loves to hate Glenn Beck should watch The Young Turks (liberal political commentary from Air America) on YouTube. The host of the show has recently developed a love for laughing at Beck and there’s about one Glenn-bashing video a day that’s posted, these days. All of his videos are really wonderful, brilliant, witty stuff that I think many Argus readers would like — this isn’t a plug.
