Russell Follansbee ’09, who entered Saturday’s 11-7 win over Little Three rival Williams as the Cardinals’ second-leading scorer, paced Wesleyan to a comfortable victory with a five-point performance. The sophomore helped the Cardinals avenge last year’s regular season loss to the Ephs by dishing out three assists and pocketing two goals of his own to bring his point total to 24 on the year (14 goals, 10 assists). Follansbee contributed to the Cards’ 4-1 halftime lead with a first period goal as well as an assist on the first of three goals from John Killen ’10. Follansbee was all over the score sheet in the second half as well, assisting the first Cardinal goal after the break before scoring with eight seconds to play in the third quarter to give Wesleyan a five-point lead. Follansbee sits third in the conference in points, one spot behind teammate Jason Ben-Eliyahu ’09 (32 points). Together they form the NESCAC’s most potent offensive tandem in terms of total points.
