Always a fan of the movies (or films as we call them when Ted Feldman is in attendance), the Ampersand was totally engrossed by the entire coverage of the 79th Academy Awards.

However, there is one travesty that the Amper could not avoid noticing Sunday night. An individual noted in both craft and ability went unsung. There is a person whose body of work went unrewarded despite numerous appearances at the event.

That person was Joan Rivers. Yes, Ms. Rivers was nowhere to be seen on the E! Live from the Red Carpet show. Both her cackling laughter and prosthetic face may have been replaced, but they will never be forgotten.

Who else is talented enough to become famous as a comedian, but comment on fashion for E! as if she once saw a Sears catalog. Other networks have tried to find a double threat like this (do you recall the time CNBC hired Mike Tyson as a boxing stock analyst?), but they never panned out.
