Men’s crew had a great showing this weekend at the Little Three Regatta in Pittsfield, MA. Leaving the other six boats trailing in their wake, Wesleyan and Williams’ first varsity boats battled for the title on Lake Onoto on Saturday. The Ephs triumphed in the final stretch, pulling in at 6:18.4 to beat out the Cardinal heavyweights by a mere 2.5 seconds (6:20.9).

Despite coming up short for the Saratoga Oar, Wesleyan crew was still decorated at the event thanks to their second varsity boat. Once again the Ephs and the Cards went head to head, but this contest saw Wes emerge victorious as the winner of the Calhoun cup, defeating Williams by the same slim margin that had cost the Wes heavyweights victory.

Also doing their part was Wesleyan’s novice eight, finishing with a commanding lead (13 seconds) over the closest competitors and adding the McGraw trophy to Wesleyan’s take of the hardware.

Another big weekend awaits Wesleyan’s men’s crew as the team will take on Connecticut College and Trinity this coming Saturday in Worcester, MA.
