Before going to Friday night’s show at Eclectic, I had never really heard Titus Andronicus’s music. Sure, I had heard the band’s name mentioned by both friends and various music web sites, and I had the general gist that they were a punkish band, but that was the extent of my knowledge.

Das Racist, a “weed edge/hare krishna hard core/art rap/freak folk music trio” (in their own words) has released their second mix-tape, “Sit Down, Man” (available for free download at http://www.dasracist.net). Behind MGMT and Santogold, Das Racist is one of the best known contemporary Wesleyan alum outfits in the contemporary music scene.

Album Review: The Infinite Definitive

The indie rock band Unknown Component is about to release their eighth album, “The Infinite Definitive,” on Oct. 12. What is especially intriguing about this release, and the entirety of Unknown Component’s discography, is that the sole member of this collective (or rather lack thereof) is Keith Lynch.
