As was made public to the Wesleyan community on Tuesday through an e-mail sent by President Michael Roth, Nora Miller ’12 passed away in the hospital of burns on Monday afternoon.

“When someone takes her own life, the entire community is shaken,” the e-mail read. “I have no doubt we will be more mindful than ever of those who are suffering around us, and, I trust, we will console one another and take care of one another.”

According to Director of Media Relations David Pesci, the administration is in the process of planning a memorial service with Miller’s friends and teachers, although no date has been announced.
For those who feel they need support, the Office of Behavioral Health for Students is available at all times. Class deans and University Chaplains Father Hal Weidner, Rabbi David LeipzigerTeva, Reverend Joan Cooper Burnett, and MarwaAly are also available.

The Argus will publish an obituary commemorating Miller’s life in the coming week.
