First off, we hope you all had a very pleasant Hanukkah (we might as well go with the majority demographic here). While you were all busy lounging around your hometowns, we were hard at work sleuthing about in order to get an interview with the How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays ’97 and Craig Thomas ’97. After much discussion, it was decided that perhaps the pair would be most receptive to a diplomatic approach, as more hands-on techniques were not well received on test-interviewees. With that we turn our attention to the long-alluded to Wemmy. This award, the first of its kind to be presented at the University, is to be given to an alumnus who has done outstanding work in the world of television. For the 2010 presentation, the nominating committee has provided us with two options: Carter Bays and Craig Thomas or Joss Whedon. An elaborate presentation ceremony is in the works, possibly involving flashlights and an effigy of Neil Patrick Harris. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we are giving you (yes, YOU) the chance to take part in this historical event by voting on who should receive this prestigious honor! Simply go to: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KCB6L8Y and pick your poison! Now, although of course you are entitled to vote for whomever you wish, let’s just say that one of those options will go a lot further towards getting us an interview with Bays and Thomas than the other one. On a side note, could whoever took out the ’93/’94 and ’94/’95 Argus archives from Olin please return them promptly? You might be working on a thesis, but we’re chasing history. So. Cough them up. Or else.
