The men’s track team tied for 16th overall of 26 scoring teams over the weekend at the New England Division III Championships, scoring 11 team points to tie with Colby-Sawyer and Emmanuel. The Cardinal women also participated in the New England Championships but failed to score.

Tommie Lark ’11 accounted for two of Wesleyan’s three top-eight finishes, as he took fifth in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump. Lark jumped 45’ 8 1/2” in the triple jump, and his distance of 21’ 11 1/2” in the long jump edged out the ninth-place finisher by roughly two inches. Chris Coleman ’10 had the best showing for Wesleyan on the day, finishing third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.42.

Williams took the overall men’s title with a team score of 136.66. M.I.T., which finished second in the men’s championship, took the women’s title with 152.5 points. (Williams finished second in the women’s championship.)

The teams will be back in action this weekend at the Open New England Championships hosted by UMass.
