Wesleyan can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Conn. College or a tie against Conn. and losses by Bates (to Colby) and Tufts (to Bowdoin). Wesleyan can finish as high as sixth in the standings (if Bates ties Colby and Tufts beats Bowdoin). Wesleyan could go to Amherst, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Trinity, or Williams in the first round. There are a total of 216 potential possibilities for where the Cardinals will play on Sunday.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Wesleyan has clinched a playoff spot and will play at Amherst or Williams in the first round. If the Cardinals beat Conn. College or Colby beats Bates, they will finish seventh; if the Cardinals lose or tie and Bates beats Colby, they will finish eighth. (Williams can clinch first place with a win/tie vs. Middlebury or with an Amherst loss/tie vs. Trinity; otherwise, Amherst will finish in first.)
VOLLEYBALL
Wesleyan has clinched a playoff spot and can finish no lower than fourth. Wesleyan can clinch first place with wins over Tufts and Amherst. Otherwise:
Wesleyan beats Tufts and loses to Amherst:
-If Tufts beats Trinity, Tufts finishes first, Amherst second, and Wesleyan third.
-If Amherst beats Conn. and Trinity beats Tufts, Amherst finishes first, Wesleyan
second, and Tufts third.
-If Conn. beats Amherst and Trinity beats Tufts, the placement for 1-3 spots comes down to the game differential among Wesleyan, Amherst, and Tufts. If all three teams are still tied, the next tiebreaker is point differential.
Wesleyan loses to Tufts and beats Amherst: Tufts finishes first, Wesleyan second, and Amherst third.
Wesleyan loses to both Tufts and Amherst: Tufts finishes first and Amherst second. If Williams sweeps the Maine schools, Williams finishes third, Wesleyan fourth, and Conn. fifth; otherwise, Wesleyan finishes third, with Bowdoin, Conn., Middlebury, and Williams battling it out for the 4-7 spots.
Wesleyan could play any team except Tufts or Amherst in the first round.
